We support each other and our beloved homeland

Events & Programs

We're continually working hard to support the restoration of freedom and democracy in Burma. We collaborate with other organizations in the Bayarea to prompte awareness about the situation inside Burma. We also organize events

Some of us have been incredibly fortunate to get out of Burma and live in a free democratic society. Our homeland has been under brutal military rule for more than 50 years. We should never forget our struggle for democray and freedom. We should alos build a community here in US and help the newcomers feel at home in this beatiful land.

With that desire in my heart, I preside over BAWA. We’re all looking to make a difference in our local communi and back in Burma.I believe that by focusing on building communities, we’re going to make the most substantial impact for our future generations. The world is made up of these important social connections and if you foster them positively, they’ll pay huge dividends - in love , care, and a better world.

BAWA is a nonprofit organization whose mission are Promote Burmese social and cultural traditions within Burmese American Communities in SF Bay Area along with Humanitarian relief work and human rights for Burmese communities globally included our homeland, Burma (Myanmar) .  Our work is done principally in the San Francisco Bay Area.
